My Baby Boy

So on the eve of my baby shower, I am reflecting on the journey thus far. The biggest turn as been the realization that my intuition was correct and he is a Boy!

I put images of my little prince on my vision board a long time ago.  Now knowing that I am weeks away from his arrival, I am getting a little nervous. Raising a black prince in this world we live in is not easy. I pray that I am rightly guided to teach him what he needs to know.

In the meantime I celebrate him.

A few months ago, my dad called me and told me he had cancer. Never one to be lacking in articulation, at that moment I had nothing to say. He assured me everything was going to be fine. He has great doctors and they caught it early, all the things that you want to hear to give you hope, but does any of that make you feel better when you first get this life changing news? I tried to be a good daughter and not get too emotional on the phone. I asked a few probing questions about the plan of action for his treatment and his symptoms. The Evolution Of...

The Mirriam-Webster Dictionary defines Evolution as "a process of continuous change from a lower, simpler, or worse to a higher, more complex, or better state : growth (2) : a process of gradual and relatively peaceful social, political, and economic advance"   We are ever-evolving, ever-changing beings. Life is a process and a journey. I am sure we have heard this before but to really grasp the concept of managing (as much as is in your control) your journey through life and always maintaining the attitude of gratitude is a HUGE.
